Last Saturday, on 2nd of Feb I was having a dinner with my teacher at Kopitiam in Tupai. It was a great moment, talking to someone u really apreciated. He used to teach me add maths while I was in form 4 and 5. And to my suprise he never change. He is still Mr H like 4 years ago, with his old motorbike. But he teaches at different school now.
I ordered chips and lemon tea, he prefer mee goreng and chocolate drink. We talked more about my experience abrod and his teachings. Not many people appreciate me, my works and my passion even though I’ve this far. The word "becoming a teacher" seems to shame them. May be because of low income teachers earn, may be because of the status as well.
He said he would like to pay me a visit one day, God’s willing. Welcome to Meloburne. Futhermore he told me why he left my school. Just because he had served for 10 years. No one wanted to stop him and school did not say anything even a single word. The principal signed the letter with out saying anything nor thanks him for his contribution for 10 years. This is too cruel I guess.
He does not have so much enthusiasm in teaching at the new school. The students dont bother asking him questions they dont know. What an attitude..!
We left there at approximately 7pm. He later sent me an sms.
"I’m very proud to have a student like u. Pentadbir tak menghargai pun tak apa asalkan pelajar tahu menghargai."
